What happens in our towns is directly related to processes and events taking place in the wider world. Hernani Council’s Cooperation Department has spent years working on the relationships between these events and raising awareness about different situations.

The “Hariak” resistance stories film festival was created to raise awareness about the human rights violations taking place around the world, but above all, to give a voice to those who are working so hard to combat these violations. That is why these resisting forces are the “threads” (hariakin Basque) that run through and connect these stories.
